Roberto Martinez has committed his long-term future to Swansea by signing an extension to his current deal which was due to expire in 2010.
After sealing promotion to the Championship, Swans chairman Huw Jenkins was determined to see Martinez prolong his stay with the club and is delighted the Spaniard has signed.
Jenkins said: "We have agreed a new, improved contract with Roberto that extends beyond the length of his current deal.
"After a fantastic season that has seen Roberto guide the club into the Championship for the first time in 24 years, we are delighted to announce that Roberto has committed his long-term future to Swansea City."
Martinez, who initially signed a three-year contract when he took charge in February 2007, said: "I feel flattered, the long relationship has always been in my mind.
"We have come a long way in the last 10 months and we really believe that the next three or four years are going to be vital for our football club."
