Latics boss Steve Bruce confirmed that the African pair are set to agree terms with the Turkcell Superliga side on cut-price deals.

"It's in place for Julius and Salomon to move on, and it's fair to say they are on the verge of finalising moves to Turkey," Bruce told the Birmingham Evening Post. "Salomon is out of contract soon so he's going on a free while there will be a small fee involved with Julius.

"It hasn't worked out for these two here - it's a shame but that's football."

Cameroon left-back Olembe, 27, joined on a free transfer after spells at Nantes, Marseille and Leeds, while 26-year-old Nigeria striker Aghahowa (pictured) arrived in a £2 million deal from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2007 after seven years at the Ukrainian club.

Bruce did not put down their failure to settle to a shortage of ability.

"I watch Julius every day on the training ground and that reminds me what a very good finisher he is, but in the games it hasn't quite worked out," he continued.

"We will wish both lads well when they go and hope they have a better time in Turkey."

Bruce added that the status of loan duo Maynor Figueroa and Erik Hagen - and out-of-contract pair Josip Skoko and Mike Pollitt - will be decided if and when the club's Premier League status is determined.

"I have plans in my mind, but I can't really do anything until I know which division we are going to be playing in," he said.

"I'm meeting with [midfielder] Skoko's representatives in the next week or so, and I'll sit down with [goalkeeper] Pollitt soon.

"If we stay up, it makes things a lot easier."

Wigan lie 13th in the Premier League, five points clear of the relegation zone with three games remaining.
