Norwich captain Mark Fotheringham has signed a new one-year contract to stay at Carrow Road, and is targeting a promotion push in 2008/9.The 24-year-old was signed by former manager Peter Grant in January 2007 and after a slow start has become an integral part of Glenn Roeder's side.

He told the club's official website: "I would like to thank the fans for their support last year after a disappointing season.

"I am delighted to have signed for another season.

"There's only one thing on my mind coming back for pre-season - to push as hard as humanly possible to reach the Premier League."
