Charlton have signed Mark Hudson on a free transfer from Crystal Palace while also extending midfielder Matt Holland's current deal.Hudson, 26, was an integral part of Neil Warnock's Palace side which reached the Championship play-off semi-finals this season.
However, after rejecting the offer of a new contract from the Eagles, Hudson has moved to the Valley on a three-year deal.
Manager Alan Pardew could not hide his delight after player of the year Holland gave the club a further boost by signing a new one-year contract.
"I'm absolutely overjoyed with Mark's signing, and I am really pleased to secure our player of the year for another season," he said.
"It's been a good day for the club. Both players are genuine leaders, something I felt we lacked at times last year, and both have been captains of their respective sides."
