Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins believes new signing Ashley Williams can fulfil his full potential at the Liberty Stadium. The 23-year-old defender joined the Swans from League Two side Stockport in a deal worth £400,000 on Thursday.
Williams had a loan spell with Roberto Martinez's side at the end of this season and made his first international appearance for Wales in March.
Jenkins is now tipping Williams to blossom.
"It's a great signing for us as Ashley has already shown that he is not only capable of playing at Championship level, but also international level as well," Jenkins told the Swansea Evening Post.
"We watched him a lot before bringing him in on loan, and we feel he has a lot of potential. We clearly believe that Ashley can play in the Championship and above that. Hopefully, over the next three years he can fulfil that here."
