Haydock Option For Soldier's

Fri 23 May, 05:09 PM

Soldier's Tale, who was not declared for Saturday's Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh, may wait a week for his first appearance of the season.

Haydock Park's John Of Gaunt Stakes is a possibility for Jeremy Noseda's intriguing sprinter, whose career has been dogged by setbacks which have restricted him to just eight outings despite now reaching the age of seven.

The last time he ran was at Royal Ascot, when he beat Takeover Target a head in the Group One Golden Jubilee Stakes.

"He might run over seven furlongs at Haydock or otherwise go for the Golden Jubilee," said Noseda.

"We just decided against this weekend and his main aim is the Golden Jubilee."

Soldier's Tale was beaten into third behind Mine on fast ground in the John Of Gaunt last year.
