Baggies keen on Ferguson

West Brom have confirmed their interest in deposed Rangers captain Barry Ferguson.

The 31-year-old, who recently made a surprise return from a calf injury that looked to have ruled him out for the rest of the season, has been linked with a number of clubs.

Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace said: "Ferguson's a Rangers player but if he becomes available, I'm sure we'll have a chat."

Ferguson's Rangers career looked to be over last month after he and team-mate Allan McGregor were suspended by the club for two weeks without pay for flicking V-signs at photographers while on Scotland duty.

That came days after an early-hours drinking session at the national team's hotel.

Ferguson - who was stripped of the Rangers captaincy - and McGregor were also handed lifetime international bans by the Scottish Football Association.

  2. i really dont see why people talked up ferguson before­ he did that. he was an average player at best, how he­ was the captain i will never know. to do that because­ they were not selected because of their own stupid­ actions was a disgrace and as a scottish person i hope­ the ban they got isnt reversed. there are thousands of­ scottish people who would LOVE to pull on the jersay­ and he throws it away. the style of football the­ baggies play, while ineffective in the premier league,­ impressed me and i hope for west brom fans that they­ dont waste their money on him. Although he may finally­ find his level at the championship, seriously doubt­ he'd do well in the premier league!

    baggies should keep there money ferguson is rank rotten­ and the most overrated player with the biggest ego in­ the spl and as for what he didi while playing for­ scotland i would let him rot in the reserves but walter­ stiff bottled it again disgrace to scotland
