Brazilian striker Jo looks set to return to Manchester City this summer after Everton manager David Moyes admitted his club could not afford to make the player's loan move permanent.
Jo, who has scored five goals in 12 league games for the Merseysiders, joined the Toffees in January after struggling to break into the City first team following an £18million summer move from CSKA Moscow.
"I don't see where we could even come close to getting the money they spent on him," Moyes told www.evertonfc.com. "But a loan has not been put to us or spoken about at all yet."
He added: "It's something that, at the moment, we've not had any indication that they would have interest in. Obviously that means he will go back to Manchester City."

SHUT UP WINJIN EVERTON , TIME TO PAY THE PIPER! MCFC
Good old Liverpool fan's, always living in the past!!!
Chris M, we are not pathetic, it's very likely that u don't know any of us so you can stop the childish insults.
Also what is very likely is that we will have many more Liverpool fans on our message boards, fresh from insane jealousy about Man Utd's superb title win, carrying on insulting us and trying for the millionth time without any success to wind us up with the boring 'small club' jibe.
RB is accused of being arrogant and disrespectful and because you have this crazy idea that he is a great manager you follow what he says like sheep
Typical bluenose mugs, cant accept they've never won the european cup once, let alone five times. How many league championships, how many fa cups, how many uefa cups have you won compared to red side of liverpool? - pathetic, but I'll give you the fact you can talk more shi t!!!
Anyone know how much Benitez has spent on players since he arrived?
How many English player does he have in his squad?
Is he going to win anything this season?
Oh the legend STEPHEN GERRARD is being paid 7.8 MILLION PER YEAR
tinywirral, u know fu-ck about football its NOT ABOUT MONEY im an arsenal fan and anyone objective watching what David Moyes is doing with everton have to admire him. I bet if he gets half the budget available for Benitez (obviously u r a liverpool supporter) he will beat the hell of ur team.
Jo should stay at everton Man city are packed with good players and still they are @#$%.
Saw a banner at Wembley saying stop glbal warming , ban Kopites from flying to home games!!!!!
tinywirral, typical response for a @#$% hole red neck muppet who many finals are you in the season w a n k e r. or how many time have you been to the new wembley!!!!!!
Cheap small club with more chance of silverware than the overspending, win nowt club over the park.
maybe all the other players at everton can do car washes all summer that might raise a couple of grand towards him, cheap, small club!
Hope we do sign him, we need more options up front and he has shown he can score goals for us and he looks like he is enoying himself at Goodison Park.
