Leyton Orient's summer renovation works are in full swing as the new pitch at Brisbane Road has been laid well in advance of the new season.Around 160 tonnes of sand was added to the top soil before the grass seed was added.
The first team to play on Orient's new surface will be Premier League outfit Tottenham, who visit the Os for a friendly on July 30. Martin Ling's side then get their season underway with the visit of Hereford on August 9.
Meanwhile, Orient's league game at Southend has been brought forward a day and will now be played on Friday September 26 at 7.45pm.
The last time Martin Ling took his side to Roots Hall for a Friday evening fixture, a rare goal from defender John Mackie sealed a 1-0 victory towards the end of the 2004/05 season.
