The last two rounds having taken place in the Mediterranean, the World Rally Championship now heads into central Europe in order to take on Rally Poland. The destination makes its first appearance on the WRC calendar.

The eighth of twelve rounds this season, this weekend's event takes place on gravel and will have Mikolajki serving as its base. The 4,000-citizen small town is situated in Poland's north east, about 20 kilometres from the Russian border.

Nicknamed "the Venice of Poland," Mikolajki features a well-known port where river cruises must pass as they navigate the region's lakes.

Poland's WRC round runs from June 25th to 28th. The competition begins Thursday evening with a super special stage in the host town, while on Friday the crews face two loops of three stages covering 302.87km, of which 113.20km are timed.

Two more loops upon three different stages await on Saturday, counting 149.44km of timed runs over a 423.64km itinerary.

Sunday's final day of rallying features two loops using two stages each, capped off by a return to the Mikolajki super special stage. The final day counts 294.65km, including 86.86km against the clock.
