Juventus agreed to sell Sweden defender Olof Mellberg to Greek side Olympiacos.

The 31-year-old will move for 2.5 million euros, the club said in a statement to the Italian stock exchange.

He moved to Juve from Aston Villa on a Bosman free transfer last July but struggled at times at both centre-back and right-back.

Serie A runners-up Juve have signed Italy centre-back Fabio Cannavaro from Real Madrid for next term as well as Werder Bremen playmaker Diego.

Other potential targets include Udinese midfielder Gaetano D'Agostino.

Olympiacos also agreed to sign England U21 striker Matt Derbyshire on a permanent deal from Blackburn Rovers after his impressive loan spell helped them to a Greek league and cup double.
