Premier League - Chelsea 'could move for Maicon'

Maicon's agent believes Chelsea will be among the teams who attempt to lure the defender away from Inter Milan this summer.

The Brazil international has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid, but Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is also a fan of 27-year-old wing-back.

"I believe Ancelotti is one of Maicon's biggest admirers," said Maicon's agent Antonio Caliendo to Sky Italia.

"It's not just Real Madrid but Chelsea who also could make a move (for Maicon).

"I'm not saying that would be the case because the possibility (of buying the player) is open to every club.

"However, what I would like to point out is that you don't negotiate for a champion, you go there, you buy him and that's that. You need to make a financial effort to buy a champion."

  1. i dont know why man utd are not goin in 4 maicon. they­ need a right back neville wont be able to paly every­ game, rafael is still developin and isnt good enough­ just yet 2 be a 1st team regular and wes brown is not a­ real right back even though he played well there the­ season before last. i think maicon is atleast the 2nd­ best right back in the world after dani alves if not­ the best and man u play very attackin and maicon is a­ great attacker

  15. Wozz... he is good but I think Dani Alves is a bit­ better to be fair!

    Why do Chelsea always do it? They­ sign Bosingwa and after an ok season (not amazing but­ ok) he is deemed to be not good enough. Why not erm try­ and develop him with training and coaching? Its sign em­ up, ship em out and sign some more - god forbid someone­ is given a season to get used to the league. Glen­ Johnson was at Chelsea day in day out and was deemed­ not good enough and yet after one good season, they are­ willing to pay a fortune for him. What does that say­ about the standard of coaching/scouting staff at­ Chelsea? Even Lampard took a while to settle in and­ look at Malouda, Anelka and A.Cole after an intial­ tough time they are playing well.
