Bradford's new signing Gareth Evans has revealed how close he was to joining Lincoln.
The 21-year-old will join the Bantams from League Two rivals Macclesfield on July 1 after finalising his move to Valley Parade over the weekend.
Lincoln had offers for the striker turned down by the Silkmen, but Evans admits he came close to signing for Peter Jackson's side.
"If I am completely honest, I wasn't a million miles away," he told Bradford's official website.
However, the lure of playing in front of large crowds at Valley Parade saw Evans opt for a move to West Yorkshire.
He added: "As soon as Bradford came in, a club of that magnitude, all I wanted to do was sign for them. I can remember playing at Valley Parade last season and it was a huge occasion, now it will be a huge occasion for me every other week."
