Tottenham midfielder Didier Zokora would be interested in a move to Sunderland, according to his agent.
However, the Black Cats would have to offer Spurs around £10million to land the 28-year-old Ivory Coast international. In addition, they might have to fight off a series of suitors from Spain to get their man should manager Steve Bruce decide he is the one he wants.
His agent, Rachel Anderson, told PA Sport: "Didier would like to stay in the Premier League and it would we quite a new challenge, coming straight from France to London then to go to the north-east.
"That would be a different challenge and with the passion you get around Sunderland, a great experience for any player. I would be surprised if he didn't look on it favourably, but that rather depends on the clubs involved."
However, Sunderland, nor anyone else for that matter, will get Zokora, who joined Spurs from St Etienne for £8.2million in July 2006, on the cheap.
Anderson added: "They paid £8million for him and he has improved since then, so they are certainly looking in double figures, that's what I have been told by Spurs. They are looking for double figures and with the interest that's around, they will probably get it."

Why dont Sunderland just come out and say they are Spurs B team, any player not getting a game at the lane is almost dead cert to go to wearside!!
Shopping??? ... that lot will be lucky to make it to the back door of lidl's and netto's! They'll be scrattin' through the lower league bins hoping to sign anyone, even if they are long past their sell by date!!!
England International, in case you hadn't noticed. Anyway, better than shopping at Lidl and Netto, where you will be.
safcalsftm....crouch...shopping at harrods???
Say nowt until the signing happens, all newspaper rumour does is sell newspapers. Mind you, I'd be happy to sign Crouch.
SR MELVIN yep its lovely nearly to hot to work
True, i must admit with the exception of Cattermole, who is a Good young player, and as much as i hate to admit it Bassong, none of the players linked with Sunderland have exactly captured the imagination! I mean Zokora (and Bent too) what is it about Spurs Rejects that appeals to Sunderland so much maybe 'Del Boy' Harry offers Nectar points or something? Hoping most of the rumours are just sports writers who have nothing else to write about until Murray gets knocked out of the Tennis and we lose the ashes, Summer is a hard time for real sports news!

Oh i fully agree with you; why has nobody actually mentioned the subject of this article . . . i.e. Zokora?
Another Spurs reject; whatever happened to Harrods?
Seriously, he's been linked with so many players, and they are all T.J. Hughes at best - well apart from the NUFC ones (Beye & Bassong)!
heslop448. fair response. isn't the weather nice today?
its at least 46 games before newcastle can play a premiership club in the league and maybe more ,discuss?
APPARENTLY IT'S 6 EPL GAMES BEFORE CHELSEA PLAY A TEAM THAT CAN BE CONSIDERED A REAL PREMIERSHIP CLUB. THE REST, ACCORDING TO THEIR SHANDY DRINKING, @#$% THUGS, ARE JUST MICKEY MOUSE GAMES WITH JOHNNY COME LATELY'S. DISCUSS......
Heard on the news last night Lomano Lua -loosar linked with us...oh no. He couldn't score on a piece of wet tissue with a diamond. Hope to hell its paper talk.
