Cardiff boss Dave Jones has praised newcomer Ross McCormack after netting his first goals for the club.The striker was on target twice in a 2-1 defeat of Portuguese side Guimaraes at the Estadio Algarve on Tuesday night.

The Scotland international joined the Bluebirds from Motherwell last month and Jones admitted he is thrilled with his acquisition.

"I like his attitude, he has good technique, great ability and he's fiery," Jones told the South Wales Echo.

"Ross should have scored another goal when he headed wide, but there is a lot more to come from him. We are preparing for the new league season and are at about 85% at the moment.

"When we are running at 100% you really will see the best of Ross McCormack. He looks a real steal for us right now."
