Millwall midfielder Ahmet Brkovic believes his side's pre-season form can be crucial in ensuring they have a good 2008/09 campaign.Millwall followed their tour of Ireland, in which they beat Bray Wanderers and drew with Shelbourne, with a 1-1 draw against Reading.

And the Lions' pre-season preparations continue at Ebbsfleet next Wednesday with Brkovic keen to build on the momentum.

He told the club's official website: "Mentally if you have a good pre-season you go into the season thinking you can do the job.

"It is good to play all these games because you get your fitness and with sharper and it is good to get results because you start to get your confidence and you start believing in yourself.

"We just need to play more games and get sharper and sharper for the new season."
