Ferenczi set to leave Barnsley

Barnsley striker Istvan Ferenczi is set to return to his homeland to join Ferencvaros in the next few days, boss Simon Davey has revealed.The 30-year-old Hungary international has been with the Tykes for 18 months but is now on the brink of a move for an undisclosed fee.

Davey told the club's official website: "It has always been a dream of Istvan's to play for the biggest club in Hungarian football and we were not prepared to stand in his way at this stage of his career.

"Istvan has been a great servant to our club and contributed a great deal to our successes in the last two seasons.

"He has been a major part in what we have achieved and we all wish him every success in the future."

  1. I don't understand Ferenczi's decision. Ferencvaros is participating in the hungarian 2nd league only. Ferenczi is such a good player that he shouldn't even play in Hungary!
