Crystal Palace have signed Jose Fonte on a permanent deal from Benfica, with the defender putting pen to paper on a three-year deal. The 24-year-old has left the Portuguese giants and joins the Eagles for an undisclosed fee.
He originally joined the Eagles on loan in January, making 26 appearances for the club as they reached the Championship play-off semi-finals.
That agreement included the right for Palace to make the move permanent over the summer and Neil Warnock has decided to take up that option.
Fonte is the brother of Arsenal youth team player, Rui, and will be hoping to set up a potential meeting with his younger sibling by helping his new club into the top flight.
