Grey days ahead for Sky Blues

Wed 23 Jul, 11:00 AM

Coventry boss Chris Coleman has warned fans the club faces another tough season in the Championship - but expects to finish higher than 22nd.But the Welshman is confident the Sky Blues will be more competitive than last season when they narrowly avoided relegation to League One.

"I understand fans' optimism because for eight years the club has been in intensive care," Coleman told the club's official website.

"But if someone is in intensive care, it is not a case of giving them an aspirin and hoping they will feel better. It needs a lot of work and a lot of help and that takes time.

"Just because we've signed some good players in the window, and hoping to get one or two more good players, we're still not there in my eyes.

"We will still have another tough season, but I think it will be a more fruitful season and we hope to give fans something to shout about."
