Everton defender Phil Jagielka insists he is not concerned by the Toffees' lack of activity in the transfer market this summer.The Merseysiders have been distinctly quiet since the transfer window reopened with a failed attempt to sign teenager Aaron Ramsey the club's only activity.

With just three weeks until Everton kick-off their 2008/09 season at home to Blackburn the pressure is on Moyes to strengthen his squad that finished a lofty fifth last term.

However, Jagielka knows Moyes and his team are working hard behind the scenes and is not worried by the club's apparent lack of desire to strengthen this summer.

"I wouldn't say it's a worry," Jagielka told Sky Sports News. "There's plenty of time yet before the season starts.

"If it comes to 10th August and we've only got five or six first-teamers ready to play then we might be worried," he joked.

"We know the gaffer and his coaching staff are trying to get people in. I think it's been quite slow for the majority of the clubs but it's started to pick up over the last couple of weeks.

"We're trying to get people off the treatment table as well, people who are three to four weeks away. They'll make a big impact when they come back.

"Hopefully the gaffer will get his first one in. Once the first one comes in I'm sure others will follow.

"I think if you listen to all the people who we're supposed to get we'll have a 44-man squad so it's quite hard obviously.

"The gaffer wants to keep hush-hush who he wants to bring in as that'll alert other Premier League teams to their capabilities."
