Cheltenham manager Keith Downing has shelved any plans to sign Brentford defender Craig Pead ahead of the 2008/09 campaign.Downing ran the rule over the former Coventry trainee during the recent pre-season friendly win over Team Bath, but appears unlikely to persue his interest in the 26-year-old.

"I'm concentrating on wide midfielders and forwards at the moment," Downing told the Gloucestershire Echo.
