Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy has revealed midfielder Michael Twiss could join League Two rivals Bury in the near future.The 30-year-old former Manchester United trainee joined the Shrimps from Chester in May 2004 and McIlroy will not stand in his way of a move to Gigg Lane.

"I have a policy of always telling players if clubs are interested in them," said McIlroy.

"I told Michael about Bury's interest and he seemed very keen. He lives two minutes away from Gigg Lane and I'm sure that will be something that will interest him.

"Michael had a difficult time of it last year and didn't play much to be fair. At this stage of his career it is something that my give him a real lift and if he does sign for Bury we wish him all the best."
