Enzo Maccarinelli is set to get an immediate chance to regain his WBO world cruiserweight title.

The Welsh banger lost his crown when stopped in round two by domestic rival David Haye back in March.

But with Haye now vacating the title to seek bigger riches at heavyweight, Maccarinelli is right back in the frame.

He's ranked three by the WBO behind Jonathon Banks and Alexander Alexeev, and the fact Banks fought recently appears to rule him out of any title fight.

According to Frank Warren's website, the promoter is currently working on a date and venue for Maccarinelli's challenge, which is likely to happen sooner rather than later.

Maccarinelli had been due to make his ring return earlier this month in Birmingham, but was withdrawn from the card because of that world-title opportunity
