There was an upset in the following Subscribe Online@racinguk.tv Selling Stakes at Catterick when Dougie Peel, 11-2, came out best in the hands of Fergal Lynch.
The odds-on favourite Debbys Boy (5-6) made the running and was still going well enough inside the final quarter-mile.
But then Lynch pounced on Dougie Peel, who got his head in front approaching the final furlong and was kept up to his work to hold the renewed effort of the market leader by a neck.
Winning trainer Kevin Ryan went to 5,000 guineas to retain Dougie Peel at the ensuing auction and he said: "They all have their day. It was a poor race and they went very fast which may have suited him."
