Dermot Weld's Firey Red looks a filly to follow after his debut victory in the Yeomanstown And Morristown Lattin Studs Ebf Maiden at Naas.
The daughter of Pivotal was held up in the early stages by Pat Smullen but picked up nicely when swtiched wide with over a furlong to run.
Stretching out well, Firey Red edged out Born To Be King in a tight finish.
The runner-up, representing Aidan O'Brien and Johnny Murtagh, is regally-bred being by Storm Cat out of Quarter Moon.
He stuck to his task well and won't be long in winning with the pair pulling clear of 6-4 favourite Douze Points in third.
