Champions League - Emre completes Fenerbahce move

Turkish midfielder Emre Belozoglu has signed for Fenerbahce from Newcastle United in a four-year deal.

The 27-year-old Emre, captain of the Turkey when they reached the semi-finals of Euro 2008, launched his career with Fenerbahce's Istanbul rivals Galatasaray.

He had a four-year spell at Inter Milan before joining Newcastle in 2005. Further details of the deal were not disclosed.

Emre's move back to Turkey, where he will now work under Euro 2008-winning coach Luis Aragones, was agreed weeks ago, but the player has only now been unveiled.

"For many years I have tried to represent Turkish football in Europe. I am very happy to have come to Fenerbahce and I hope I will serve this club for years," Emre said.

Spain international striker Daivd Guiza has also joined the Turkish giants this summer.
