Europa League - Motherwell set up Steaua clash

Motherwell revenged a first-leg defeat to Flamurtari with an 8-1 pasting of the Albanian side in the home leg of their Europa League second qualifying round tie to go through 8-2 on aggregate.

Jamie Murphy scored an 18-minute hat-trick while there were also goals for Paul Slane, Ross Forbes (two, one penalty), Shaun Hutchinson and Robert McHugh.

Odise Roshi pulled one back for Flamurtari before McHugh's strike.

Motherwell will face Steaua Bucharest in the third qualifying round next week after the Romanian club beat Hungarians Ujpest 4-2 on aggregate.

Falkirk fell at the first European hurdle after a 2-0 extra-time defeat to Vaduz in Liechtenstein.

Eddie May's tenure had begun on a bright note as his youthful side celebrated the club's first game in Europe with a 1-0 win last Thursday.

But there was to be no such joy in the shadow of the Alps as they disappointingly exited.

Franz Burgmeier struck the 105th-minute winner to secure a deserved victory for the hosts after Emil Noll's goal levelled the aggregate score in the first half.

Falkirk suffered further misery when Carl Finnigan was shown a straight red card at the final whistle.

What you see in Glasgow and Edinburgh , they aren't­ the real romanians, they are the plagues of our­ country, we hate the gypsies because they steal , begg,­ and harm other people abroad, making our country look­ like a bunch a mad people.   3. Whats the best to come out or Romania??????? Hagi -­ great player, Dracula - Myth, and the bloody cheeky­ girls. But def not steaua!!!!! I like Romanian people­ but the gus on this are just idiots, am looking forward­ to going again to Romania.
    We don't expect­ motherwell to win this tourney is a bit of unexpected­ fun, but with a bit of luck we can bring it home in­ second leg with still a chance, so Steaua please please­ keep underestimating us it only helps the Scots we­ always struggle bein favourites.
