Canadian star Britt Janyk is hoping that the prospect of an Olympics in her hometown Vancouver will inspire her to a better season on the slopes.
The 2008 World Cup downhill winner endured a tough time last season, before ending on a high note by winning her 11th Canadian championship.
"I think I just know that once I step on to this hill, it doesn't really matter what's been going on beforehand, because I know that I can ski fast here," said Whistler-born Janyk.
"(Last season) I was just missing some fire. It's not that I wasn't skiing well, but that spirit and that passion to race was kind of missing.
"I'm just doing everything I can do so I'm prepared for February."
Janyk is currently in summer training with the Canada team based in Whistler, before they head to New Zealand in August for five weeks training.
The 2010 Winter Olympics take place in Vancouver from February 12-28.
