Colchester have handed a trial to former Wycombe midfielder Gary Holt.
The 36-year-old Scot played under Us boss Paul Lambert at Adams Park, and is available after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent earlier this month.
Lambert will run the rule over Holt in Thursday night's pre-season friendly against Heybridge Swifts.
