Wenger expects Eduardo to figure

Thu, 23 Jul 18:50:49 2009

Arsene Wenger has eased concerns over Eduardo's fitness by confirming the Arsenal striker is in line to make his pre-season bow in Monday's match at Szombathelyi Haladas.

"Eduardo should play on Monday," Wenger said after Arsenal's 7-1 pre-season friendly success over SC Columbia.

The Croatia international returned to action earlier this year after dislocating his left ankle in a Barclays Premier League game with Birmingham in February last year and has since undergone "simple revision surgery".

  4. to be honest it is hard to tell who wins the premier league at such an early stage we haven't even started .... man u have sold thier best player, they will be like "us" (arsenal) when we sold henry didn't really challenge for anything an haven't since, but we are as good as any other team, every team has gone with for a few year with out getting a trophie, look at liverpool they haven't wont the prem' in 20 years, if you call yourself an arsenal fan you have to stick by the through rough time (as in getting no trophies) we will get our turn.... i hope its this year but if not we tried our hardest, we aint like all of the other teams we DONT buy our way to the top we play it

  5. i agree and disagree with the last comments. Every body is under estimating gunners. In ideal world we would have one world class player in each position. ideal would be one such as gattuso, alonso, senna, poulsen, scott parker, recoker, noble. not all are world class but it the place arsenal need to spend money.

i dont think we should be worrying about if we finish in the top four. It should be the case of were as good as last year and we have just as good chance as manu, chelsea, liverpool or any other team that wants to win the league.

i dont see any of the teams that finished above us being unbeatable they all have problems. we lack some big players. but if arsenal can stay as a unit and play as team instead of individuals we can beat any one. it looks like arsenal are starting see the problem by selling ADI.

At the end of the day we may not have the best team in europe but we have team that can contend in winning trophies. By the way all we need is a defensive midfield that has premier experience.

  6. At the end of the season's analysis, all commentators incl. the famed 'Sunday Supplement' on Sky stressed that Arsenal needed atleast a top, top player at each oof the positions (GK, FB, MF and F). Sadly, Wenger has only re-inforced the back with Vermalen! and We have lost a forward (EA) and a midfielder (SN - although temporarily). Edaurdo and Thomas Rosicky are back - but they are so injury prone like just like Diaby, Walcott, RVP, Clichy that they cannot be relied upon at all. The boys in waiting are still just boys and that includes Ramsay and Wilshire. So as it stands, we are probably as bad or as good as last year.
God please help us as it appears that the present team is not strong enough even for a top 4 finish. As of now, Man U 's edge over the other teams following the loss of Ronaldo is lost and the race for the top between them, Liverpool and Chelsea will be closer than ever.

  8. I'm sorry but i believe most Arsenal Fans did not make much of a hoot where Henry leaving is concerned. In fact, most are disappointed of his departure then BUT most of us never for once thought money was the main reason why.

If you recalled, Henry had an injury that till today is still lingering and considering that the EPL is pretty demanding physically, he made a wise decision to maintain his career while taking note what his body can take. Also, for the fact that his marriage broke down and leaving London was probably an influencing decision. We respected his decision like we respected Viera's/Wright's decision to call it quits as well.

They all left with merit, pride and dignity in place and remembered in our hearts as 'Great Players' for the club. I think they deserve testimonial matches.

BUT Adebayor on the other hand.....is different. He's made it worse by believing that he's a 'Theirry Henry' and that he deserves that pay and respect. Which to most of us supporters, is disgusting and disrespectful.

Henry, Viera, Wright and even Kolo are some prime examples of players who put their foot on the field to post their statements of how much they are worth through dedication of their work...hence "their football do the talk". Thats how respect is earned! Even when kolo plays badly in some matches....but at the end of the day, most Arsenal fans embrace him as one of the greats. How is it so? Maybe its something Gallas should learn from Kolo.

These players put in years with us. What has Adebayor or Gallas put in to deserve that recognition???

So get that str8 into your head if you think its racist for us to target an individual who happens to be black.... I'm a an asian, heck there aren't many of my kind in the league to begin with. Do i think for once that it is racism? NO is the answer! Why? Coz asian football in general hasn't produced quality players enough to attract major teams in t

  9. Its a fundamental right to speak but Y de hell do some idiots use this forum to post all sorts of insults from racism to ignorence. If there were any race; white, green, blue or black that cudn't face death en wd live 4ever, then i wd definately go 4 plastic surgery or other means. If anyone feels cheated to live with other races u better ask GOD to change that if u can't, less that; u better accept that this space called 'Earth or World' belongs to everyone and everything from God's creation.
Turn to soccer; when press over rated players like John Terry, Ibrahamovic, Rooney, et al demand high wages b4 committing to their clubs, none of u 'the blind with eyes' throws a comment. BUT when Ade, Eto, Gallas, Thiery, et al make transfers, they are branded money 'grabbing animals'.
Well, its best if u can extend some justice en fairness to others b4 justice forces u to perish in anguish. Or else u gonna remain with such hateful hearts 4ever and at end u might hate yo own self. Isn't that hate eating u away?

  14. I'm an Arsenal's fun and always wished successful seasons of match. However ,it wasn't true because of absence of stong striker in the team. Now, i'm happy because the sluggish and extravagant Adebayor has gonae away. Hopefully, the remaining strikers will do the best thing in the new match season to bring TROPHIES for our bright team and funs.

  15. It's fantastic that Adebayor is gone. Let Milan have Bendtner if they want them. Get rid of Silvestre and buy Yaya Toure to strengthen the defensive midfield. Diego Forlan would be a fantastic addition to our attack along with Eduardo and Van Persie.
