Aston Martin Racing dominated qualifying for the Le Mans Series 1000km of the Nurburgring, taking the top-two spots over half a second faster than their nearest competitors.

The Lola Aston Martin 007 - driven by the team of Stefan Mucke, Tomas Enge and Jan Charouz - was fastest on the German circuit with a best time of one minute 41.944 seconds.

The team's other car - Aston Martin Racing 009 - was just a tenth of a second slower, with driving team Harold Primat and Darren Turner clocking 1:42.060.

Third fastest with 1:42.570 was the Speed Racing Team entry - also a Lola Aston Martin - driven by Nicolas Prost, Marcel Fassler and Andrea Belicchi, while the Strakka Racing Ginetta Zytek driven by Nick Leventis and Danny Watts was fourth with a best time of 1:42.966.

The Pescarolo Sport entry driven by Jean-Christophe Bouillon and Christophe Tinseau rounded out the top five.
