Craig Bellamy and Gary Neville have both received warnings from the Football Association following incidents in Sunday's highly-charged Manchester derby.
The FA launched an investigation after Manchester City striker Bellamy shoved his hand into the face of a fan who invaded the Old Trafford pitch.
Neville, a non-playing Manchester United substitute, was also investigated for his actions in celebrating the home side's winner by running down the touchline towards the City fans.
The FA have decided against charging either player with improper conduct however - referee Martin Atkinson told FA officials that he would not have sent off Bellamy had he seen the incident.
A statement released by the FA said: "The FA has warned both Manchester City's Craig Bellamy and Manchester United's Gary Neville following separate incidents in Sunday's fixture at Old Trafford.
"In relation to Craig Bellamy the match referee has confirmed that he would not have sent the player off had he seen the incident with the fan at the time. Craig Bellamy will be contacted by the FA and warned as to his future conduct. The FA would repeat its previous advice that players should not become involved with or approach fans in such circumstances.
"The FA would also take this opportunity to remind fans, managers and players of their joint responsibility towards the game and strongly condemns any pitch invasions by fans.
"Gary Neville has been reminded of his responsibilities following his actions after Manchester United's final goal deep into injury time."
United have also avoided any disciplinary action after City substitute Javier Garrido was struck on the head by a coin as he headed down the tunnel at half-time.
The statement added: "The FA has also contacted Manchester United regarding a coin-throwing incident during the same fixture. The FA fully expects the club to use all available means to identify and deal with the culprit appropriately and, along with the fan who entered the field of play, look to issue bans on attending future matches."

It is disgusting that the FA have let Bellamy off scott free. He was no where the fan at the time he was being led off by the stewards. I agree the fan shouldn't have been there, but why didn't bellamy let the stewards do there job. All i can say to the FA and Man City is be careful because you reap what you sow, if you let payers and teams off scott free for this type of behaviour it will only get worse
i think bellamy should get a cheered for what he did to the fan. the stewards should be the one in trouble for the fan being aloud on the pitch.
have u guyz 4gotten that what is good 4 d geese is not alwayz good 4 the gander and all animalz ar nt equal. that is what u get if u come 4rm dt part of the world.
Neville should know better what a prat
ars/manur'dbeNAILD4their hULIGN'fans'!!
You cretins, Adebayor has got his three match ban for violent conduct not for ionciting a riot. He go of lightly but coukld still face another ban for the second charge: Hoope so.
ade deserved what he got, ex player taunting ex fans....neville...united all his life what u expect...man city fans will agree and not want it ant other way...
This decision is a great injustice and very unfair to Adebayor and Man City. Is the FA making a bold statement now that a player's celebration within the playinground's perimeter is a grievious offence and that outside same is alright for all players? Does it mean players can no longer celebrate goals scored anywhere on d field? Ade's decision should be revisited and reversed; and an apology should be given to both him and his club.
Michael, wat the diffrences? i only see banana for adebayor. and now, arsenal fans need to be warning also
No zakuto_chameleon,maybe you dont have eyes to see the difference between Ade and Neville.Open your eyes well and you'll see.LOL
FA just punished Adebayor for cerebration, Neville should follow the similar senction or the decision on cerebration is not valid. Maybe it is whe whole club that must be accountable to this violation.
another whitewash the ostriches heads are getting deeper in the sand by the year
ok,then for ade celeb also he deserved only a warning. no more than that!
