Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva is three weeks away from returning from his horrific broken leg.
Manager Arsene Wenger told the club's AGM that the Croatia international would be able to play as soon as mid-November following ninth months out.
Eduardo suffered a compound fracture of the lower left leg in a tackle by Birmingham City's Martin Taylor during a Premier League match in February.
The 25-year-old, who scored 12 times in his debut season before the injury, has undergone successful rehabilitation and looks set to defy fears that he would no play again.
Wenger said: Eduardo is three weeks away from playing competitive football.
However, the Frenchman offered a more pessimistic analysis of midfielder Tomas Rosicky.
The Czech international has been out since the end of January with hamstring and knee problems, and Wenger admitted he is unlikely to play again in 2008.
He should be back after Christmas," said Wenger.

QUOTE: #41 From Mark Palin, on Thu 23 Oct 5:58PM
"Good luck to the player.
Hope he does well except against Man Utd."
Very good to see even opposition supporters wishing him well as opposed to those classless morons who usually laugh and poke fun at what was a horrific situation. Respect to you!
Can't wait to see Eduardo back playing for the Arsenal.
Good luck to the player.
Hope he does well except against Man Utd.

Jonathan.Highfeld: All I, and apparently others, noticed about your original comment (#2) was the xenophobic tone. People who make death threats are morons, no matter what their nationality or ethnicity is. I think to bring up it up again now, especially when it wasn't even mentioned in the article or by other contributors, worries me. I think the most appropriate and sane thing to write about would be in support of Eduardo's recovery.
Please...help...re comment 8, do all of Arsenal's "biggest fans eva" not know the nationalities of their best players? What?? Wenger...French???
we all thank god 4 that!!!He is wel come 2 marvolous arsenal.

It's great that Eduardo is returning but as a Mexican, i'm a bit worried about whether this will reduce Carlos Vela's Role in the Club and remove him from the sub bench to the reserves or not. Arsene Described him as an Eduardo-type of Striker. The two could form a very good partnership.
