World Cup qual. - Ballack tells Loew to call Chelsea

Germany coach Joachim Loew must ask Chelsea for permission if he is to hold showdown talks with Michael Ballack, according to the player.

Loew is furious with his captain Ballack for criticising his decision to drop Thorsten Frings for World Cup qualifiers against Russia and Wales and has called a meeting with the former Leverkusen and Bayern Munich midfielder to discuss the issue.

The captaincy and national team career of Ballack now hang in the balance and will be determined "by how the conversation goes", according to the Germany coach.

But Ballack has told Loew he can only fly to Germany if Chelsea let him.

"The German FA will have to arrange it with my employers Chelsea," he told Bild.

"I am open to this one-to-one discussion at any time. I am glad that the coach wants to talk to me and am looking forward to this discussion."

  2. It's absolutely pathetic. Frings, Ballack and Kevin 'shoot my barber' Kuranyi should be thrown out of the team. End of story. They're like babies throwing their toys out of a pram. To be fair though, I'd rather Frings and Kuranyi be in the team, at least then they wouldn't qualify!

  7. If he wants to be treated with respect he should talk to Low and the other members of the training staff... Not to the press... Ballack is an experienced player and he realy should no better.

  11. In Germany people are generally conservative and does not speak out so often. So I guess Ballack said what was in Törsten's mind unlike Kuranyi who walked out. Though Klose had scored goals for Germany they do not have a good forward in the country. I guess Gomez and Kuranyi can also score if there are given the same oppertunity like Klose. The body language of Klose is not all encouraging for German fans.

  12. he shouldnt surprise doh. what ballack said was the truth. treat a senior player with respect, it's the least u can get as a senior player coz their time is almost done. think of what the player had give to the national team, and now he want to throw them without a sign. if he dont want him then said it out "to be honest,i dont need u anymore"!! see!! it's easy. dont be keeping a player that u didnt need.
