Chris Hughton has revealed striker Shola Ameobi could be back in action late next month as he continues his recovery from a foot injury.
Ameobi scored five goals in as many matches for Newcastle before sustaining the injury at the end of August. The 28-year-old has so far missed a total of 10 matches.
Hughton said: "With Shola, we are probably looking towards the end of November, so we are looking at about another five weeks.
"But that deadline will be very much about how he responds. Everybody responds in different ways.
"But the time he has been given is five weeks and we're hoping that's enough."

ting tong, 2, no need to wear a carnation I'll easily find you. You'll be the one standing on your own in a dark corner 'right'.
I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd ever say this but we've missed Ameobi. Carroll puts in the effort but he's not scaring any of the championship defences and Ranger needs a goal to settle him; apart from the fact that he's still very inexperienced and only playing because of Ashley's squad size policy.
Harewood is as good as we all knew he was before we brought him in on loan so not many goals there to look forward to, leaving Ameobi 'if he can stay fit' as the only recognised striker at the club who can at least hit the back of the net (in this league).
well me old black n white puddings i'll be in Shearers bar about 8.00 if ye fancy slaggin the doon army off with me..see ye there♥
