Bignall back at Bees

Stockport manager Gary Ablett has been boosted by the news that Nicholas Bignall is set to make his return from injury at Brentford.

The on-loan Reading striker has been sidelined since pulling up in training with a hamstring injury the day before County's victory at Tranmere 11 days ago but has now been given the green light by the club's medical staff.

The news means Ablett has a fully-fit squad to choose from apart from long-term injury absentee Matty Mainwaring.

The midfielder broke his leg in pre-season training but is hopeful of being able to start running again next week and should return to action at the start of next month.

"It's really coming on well. I came off the crutches four weeks ago and everything's been positive since then," Mainwaring told the official club website.
