Cardiff's Michael Chopra has spoken of his delight after being chosen as an ambassador for England's 2018 World Cup bid.
The striker features on a list of 73 names which includes former England coaches Graham Taylor, Glenn Hoddle, Sven-Goran Eriksson and Terry Venables.
Current and former English-based players of various nationalities also appear on the list, along with several members of the England women's team and representatives from the national blind and cerebral palsy squads.
Chopra said: "I received a letter from the FA asking me if I wanted to become an ambassador - I couldn't say yes quickly enough. With my Indian connections, I take it I'll be wanted to boost support for the bid in Asia.
"It would be great to bring the World Cup back to England - even for people living in Wales, it would only be a short hop over the border to see a World Cup match.
"When you see some of the ambassadors who have been appointed - like David Beckham, Alan Shearer, Bryan Robson, Gary Lineker, John Terry, Michael Ballack and Robinho - it's obvious they are taking it very seriously. I'm looking forward to playing my part."
