Connolly could start

Fri, 23 Oct 09:59:12 2009

David Connolly will be pushing for his first start for Southampton when MK Dons arrive at St Mary's.

The Irish striker scored on his debut as a substitute in Saturday's 3-1 win at Oldham and has another weeks' training under his belt as he continues to build up his fitness.

Boss Alan Pardew therefore has almost a full squad to choose from.

Veteran full-back Graeme Murty is the only injury absentee, and he is expected back in training in November following his knee ligament injury.

Midfielder Lloyd James will continue to fill in at right-back as the in-form Saints go in search of a fourth straight league win.
