Hartlepool boss Chris Turner has no fresh injury worries for the home clash with Tranmere.
Long-term absentee Ben Clark had been pencilled in for a return to action following hernia and groin surgery in the midweek reserve-team clash with Huddersfield.
However, physio James Haycock advised against the defender playing without a full week of training under his belt and Clark did not feature.
Antony Sweeney impressed for the second string against the Terriers and will be hoping to be involved, but Ritchie Jones, who took Sweeney`s place in midfield at Swindon last weekend, is likely to keep his spot.
The club`s hopes of seeing Willie Boland back in a Pools shirt were ended this week when the 34-year-old midfielder announced his retirement due to injury.
