Tranmere caretaker boss Les Parry has several injury worries ahead of their trip to Hartlepool.
Midfielder Paul McLaren remains a doubt after a hip injury forced him off during last weekend's victory against Brighton.
Michael Ricketts missed that game with a virus and has yet to resume training but Parry is set to leave it right until the last moment before deciding whether to include the striker in his squad.
Chris Shuker is also rated doubtful after the midfielder hobbled out of training following a clash of knees with Shaleum Logan.
However, goalkeeper Luke Daniels returns from serving his one-match suspension and will compete with David Martin, signed on loan from Liverpool last week, for the spot between the posts.
