McLaren focused on Mercedes deal
McLaren have calmed talk of a switch to Honda Formula One engines after 2012 by saying that they were fully focused on continuing their partnership with Mercedes.
German magazine Auto motor und sport reported last week that McLaren were considering reviving their former partnership with Honda, who pulled out of the sport at the end of 2008, once their deal for free Mercedes engines expired.
It quoted an unnamed senior Honda manager in Suzuka saying everything was technically ready for the company to become an engine provider again but management had yet to approve anything.
"That is all wide of the mark," McLaren managing director Jonathan Neale said in a phone-in ahead of the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix when asked about the speculation.
"We are very happy with and enjoying our partnership with Mercedes-Benz. We are not quite sure where that story came from in truth.
"But I can stop the rumour and say that we are entirely focused on our Mercedes-Benz relationship. It is a long one spanning many wins and championships and long may it continue."
Mercedes sold their stake in McLaren after buying the 2009 championship-winning Brawn team and renaming it Mercedes GP.
They have yet to win a race since then.
The deal allowed McLaren free engines until the end of 2012 and then a supply until at least 2015 at the going rate of around 8 million euros a year.
Mercedes also supply Force India with engines.

'When have they ever built aerodromes round ? you learn something new every day. I have always thought runways were straight.
From m g a, on Fri 25 Nov 7:35PM'
duh! please refer to post 42, numpty
toutou you dont even know, you think that you can do a constant radius test round a normal track
Question one. What does a Straight line and Radius test entail ?
Still waiting for a answer. or cant you find anything about it in the rules.
When have they ever built aerodromes round ? you learn something new every day. I have always thought runways were straight.
toutou it is you who is the thick one, thought that it was radiant testing instead of constant radius, thinks that they can do it at silverstone when they dont even have a suitable track and when you get caught out you claim it was all a trick to try and test us, you really are stupid
sasbakaer I think he is truly thick as two short planks, he we be telling us next Force India and Mercedes travel to do there straight line and radius testing in their 2010 spec cars. They travel nowhere. I could tell him why Renault travel to Duxford Airfield but his thick brain might work that one out.
Duh,Duh,Duh....... round for constant radius , straight for straight, how difficult is that concept????????????????????????????
paulhancock1123, Are you telling us now a circuit must be round to do a straight line and radius test ???
Nardň race track, Italy, is another classic constant radius track, known as the Nardo Ring, do you see a pattern emerging here toutou?
here is a constand radius track linked to a couple of straights, doesnt look like stowe does it?

Toutou, constant radius, the clue is in the name, making the car go round a circular track with the same steering input, if you vary it, you are contravening FIA test rules, again, why do Renault do their constant radius testing at Duxford when silverstone is on their doorstep?

Toutou, stowe circuit is not circular, the clue is in the title of the test 'constant radius', the track has to be a huge circle you halfwit thats why renault use an air field, a huge free area of tarmac marked out in a circular track. duh

"when there isnt a constant radius test area there? and why Renault carryout their constant radius tests at Duxford airfield when silverstone is just round the corner so to speak.
From paulhancock1123, on Fri 25 Nov 8:33AM
Oh yes there is at Stowe Circuit .
Question one. What does a Straight line and Radius test entail ?
The new McLaren road car will have the M838T, a fuel-efficient 3.8-litre V8 twin-turbo engine designed, developed and manufactured by engineers at UK powertrain specialist Ricardo.
oh and just explain to me how anyone is supposed to carryout constant radius tests at silverstone when there isnt a constant radius test area there? and why Renault carryout their constant radius tests at Duxford airfield when silverstone is just round the corner so to speak
I dont change the goal posts at all, if you develop and design something, then get get someone else to produce it ,it is still your engine, end of
paulhancock1123, Please ? What do you really mean ? Your first post post ""They make their own engine for the mclaren road car "
Now they are in partnership !!! Which is it to be ? Or do you like to keep changing the goal posts to make yourself right.
Touron, if you are going to start posting facts then at least post the full story, here are some facts from wikipedia, yes, the line just above the one you lifted earlier.

What a load of old bull.
Ricardo Engineering as built the McLaren M838T, the latter's first ever engine. The new engine is built at Ricardo's new engine assembly facility in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex.
'Oh no they dont.
Engine developed by Ricardo engineering.
Subframe built in Japan and Austria.
Gearbox by the Italians. Graziano.

The same applies to all of the other snipets youve posted, yes some of the parts are manufactured abroad but the are designed by mclaren with the construction subcontracted out, still makes them mclaren
