Paul Le Guen's side, who are the best performing team away from home but are still looking for their first win in Paris in the league this season, climbed to 16th.

Striker Peguy Luyindula headed home from a Ceara cross from the right on 52 minutes.

The hosts had the first chances, however, with forward David Gigliotti hitting Mickael Landreau's left post with a 25-yard drive.

Midfielder Geoffrey Dernis also found Landreau's post after 38 minutes with a long-range free kick.

One minute later, the Paris keeper pulled off a fine save to deny Gigliotti.

Earlier Rennes had stopped a run of six consectutive defeats with a goalless draw against Toulouse at the Stadium Municipal.

Sunday's other game between Lens and Lille was postponed because of a frozen pitch.
