Dobie in line for second debut

Thu 24 Jan, 01:45 PM

Carlisle midfielder Scott Dobie is in contention to make his second debut for the club when manager John Ward returns to Cheltenham.Dobie, who started his career at Brunton Park, rejoined the Blues on Wednesday from Nottingham Forest and could slot straight into the starting XI against the Robins.

Boss Ward enjoyed a four-year spell in charge at Whaddon Road before moving to Cumbria and heads to his former club still unable to call on on injured captain Paul Thirlwell (calf).

Young striker Stephen Hindmarch has recovered from an operation to remove an in-growing toenail but is unlikely to be in the matchday 16.

Ward has no other injury concerns to contend with and will be hoping striker Joe Garner - who has scored three goals in his last four games - can extend his purple patch in front of goal.

Victory would lift the Blues above promotion rivals Forest into second spot in League One.
