Stockport County have rejected a bid from League One outfit Hartlepool United for the Hatters' leading goalscorer Anthony Elding.The 14-goal forward has scored in each of County's last four league games and was expected to attract attention during the January transfer window.

A statement on Stockport's website said of Hartlepool's bid: "Their valuation of the player would have to be significantly increased should any further offer be considered."
