Blackpool midfielder Claus Jorgensen believes striker Stephen McPhee will prove a key player in the coming weeks.McPhee, a recent recruit from Championship rivals Hull, impressed during his home debut against Ipswich last weekend.

And Jorgensen feels the all-action frontman will continue to make his mark as the Seasiders seek to safeguard their Championship status.

"Everyone is delighted with him," said Jorgensen.

"Centre-halves hate a striker who is busy and closing them down. When they want to clear the ball the ball is not cleared as fast.

"They have to rush clearances and that means that for someone like me in midfield I don't have to defend that deep, I can get upfield a bit more and that's brilliant."
