Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe has urged fans not to go ahead with a planned protest during Sunday's FA Cup clash with Manchester City.A large section of Blades supporters are understood to be ready to mount a demonstration in front of Sky Sports TV cameras following McCabe's decision this week not to sack under-fire manager Bryan Robson.
McCabe said: "We have a worldwide audience on Sunday and I want to see a united United.
"I don't want to see people boycotting the game and protests... let's go out there and show people what a great club this is. Let's stick together."
McCabe added: "Bryan has a CV that shows promotions and getting to cup finals. He is a strong man, he has an inner strength and wants to see Sheffield United succeed.
"During the last couple of months the events on the field have been the topic of conversation and the top of our agenda. I believe Bryan is the right man. We need to give him time to turn the corner. If he can't there will be change, but I don't want that."
