Mixed Fortunes For Feindouno

Thu 24 Jan, 10:09 PM

Pascal Feindouno scored two goals and was then sent off as Guinea brought themselves back into Group A contention at the African Nations Cup with an entertaining 3-2 victory over Morocco.

The midfielder opened the scoring early on with a curling free-kick, before playing Ismael Bangoura in for the second shortly before the hour mark.

A bizarre few minutes then saw Hicham Aboucherouane pull a goal back and Feindouno restored the two-goal cushion from the spot after which he was dismissed for kicking out at an opponent.

Abdeslam Ouaddou pulled another goal back late on for Morocco, but it was not enough.

In Thursday's other match in Group A, Nottingham Forest striker Junior Agogo scored the only goal of the game as Ghana beat Namibia 1-0 to move to the brink of qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition.

Agogo bundled home from close range in the 41st minute but the hosts struggled to impose themselves on their Group A opponents - who are knocked out as a result of the defeat - and could easily have conceded in the second half.
