Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has urged the club's fans to turn out in force to support club and country at the same time.
England's Under-21s will play their counterparts from Belgium at the Riverside Stadium on Wednesday, February 29 and there could be local, as well as national, interest for Teessiders.
Mowbray told the club's official website: "Everyone knows that the north-east is a passionate football area, and this is our chance to show it to the rest of the country.
"England Under-21s have attracted some big crowds when playing at places such as Norwich City and Southampton, so there's no reason why Middlesbrough can't follow suit.
"There's some real talent in England's youth system - our fans see two every week in Jason Steele and Joe Bennett, so they are doing well to be considered alongside Premier League talent such as Josh McEachran and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain."
