Neil Eardley is confident Blackpool can mount an automatic promotion challenge.
The Seasiders secured a dramatic comeback win over Crystal Palace at the weekend and are eight points behind second-place Southampton, who lost to Leicester at St Mary's on Monday night.
Leaders West Ham also faltered in recent weeks and Eardley believes he and his team-mates are perfectly poised as they lie one point outside the play-off places.
The defender told Blackpool's official website: "I don't think we're ruling out automatic promotion. There are 19 games left and we're going to pick up as many points as possible. Eight points isn't a great deal.
"There are the games there to make up the gap and we have a lot of the top sides to play at Bloomfield Road before the end of the season so we have a good chance.
"A couple of the sides who got promoted last season like Brighton and Southampton started really well because of the momentum they had, but like we saw last year it can be difficult to keep going in the second half of the campaign."

Blackpool need to win 'at least' seven of their last nineteen games and draw 'most' of the others. That would leave us with enough points and a suitable goal difference comparable to previous season's championship play-off teams.
In my opinion, this is a difficult task considering our inconsistency this season. We are more likely to stay where we are.
I hope, sincerely, that I am wrong.
Up the 'Pool!
I agree Neal but we need some consitency in there as well. one win, one loss and one draw will keep us where we are now. But if we can build some momentum like we did 2 seasons ago then anything is possible.
Keep it up lads and good luck in the FA cup on Saturday hope we go for the win there too.
