No QPR deal for Alex

Tue, 24 Jan 13:20:22 2012

Chelsea defender Alex will not be joining QPR after failing to agree personal terms, Press Association Sport understands.

The 29-year-old defender has been in talks with the Rs over a potential transfer across west London to the Loftus Road outfit.

However, it is understood Alex will not be joining Mark Hughes' side as the club are unwilling to match his wage demands.

The Brazil international handed in a transfer request at Chelsea in November and has subsequently been linked with a move to QPR, as well as Juventus and Paris St Germain.

The Hoops were granted permission to speak to Alex but have failed to agree terms, with reports suggesting PSG are in the driving seat for his signature.

The French club's director of football Leonardo confirmed on Tuesday "there is the possibility" of signing the defender, who would link up with former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti should he move to the Parc des Princes.

  3. The Quarter Pound of Rubbish wont sign anyone decent ... for a start no-ones heard of them , theyve got no support the stadiums like a breakers yard in the arse end of Acton and the sooner they get relegated back to their rightful place the better for everyone ... theyre an embarrasment to the Premier League.

  5. Thats very disapointing to read and it proves greed is rampant in Football right now.We could use his strength and quickness at the back because we are getting ripped apart most weeks and not just by the big boys.If we cant defend then its going to be a real struggle even with our goal outburst on Saturday its hard to see us getting 2 or 3 every match and when we get a lead we cant seem to hold it .I like our formation and the way we chase back to get the ball so maybe Hughes will tighten us up at the back and we can move up and close that 5 point gap soon

  6. Alex you can play sunday footie if you want its unpaid but anyone who watched you last games for us wondered if you was gettin paid anyway, If qpr don't want you you know you have had it mate.you wanted to go to spurts in the summer but that fell thru, your attitude stinks and thats what has done for you, every man/boy that watches and dreams of playin for the team would not cross the road to shake your hand, your a lightweight
the sooner you jog on the better, wehave been here before with a dutch lazy defender i'd force you to go to portsmouth see how gettin paid works for you there!!

  7. As i said, we need players that are 100% committed to the club.Young , hungry, and with something to prove. Look towards England under 21s, they are better than the 1st team. Have a go for Snoggrass. Bates would take a couple of mill for him. he scores goals for fun

  8. Was all this shouting about money just a ploy to advertise Qpr's name a but more. So far all we have done is sign on loan macheda and talk alot. We do need players to give depth to our team otherwise there is just no competition for places. I do think without we can stay in the prem but it won't be no mid table finish.

  9. alex is going to sit on the bench and rot!! look at the shorter term sign 4 qpr till end of season and then request a transfer and move on. you are not going to impress anyone sitting on the bench

  10. Hughes still needs to get in some good players before the deadline or they are toast

  11. Told you he was just waiting for a bigger club, that would pay his greedy, over rated wages. It's not about football any more, it's about wages. Maybe the premier league is to tough for him, that's why he's going to the frogs league. Hughes should be looking for players that want to prove themselves in the best league in the world.
